Module 6 Short Term Scheduling Menu on the Main Menu is used to develop and maintain a short term schedule. The first step is to initialize the Short Term Auditor Calendars.
Select menu item 6.5.1 Maintain Default Auditor Availability, using the DIV1 file as input, to set the start date of the calendars and record company-wide holidays. Sue the EDIT command to specify a start date of January 1, 1990. January 1 can be marked as a non-working day by pressing O for OFF. SAVE to initialize the Auditor Calendars and QUIT back to the Short Term Scheduling Menu.
We can now use menu item 1, 6.1 Tag Tasks for Short Term Plan, to indicate which audits will be scheduled in this plan. We will tag all Audit Units that have non-zero budgeted hours in the first Period of the Long Term Plan.
For both DIV1 and DIV2, use the EXTRACT command with a selection criterion of 11 (Task Budgeted Hours) > 0 to tag those Audit Units which have non-zero budgeted hours in Period 1: i.e., SELECT IF: 11 > 0. Then use the SAVE command to initialize the Short Term Planning records.
Menu item 4, 6.4 Maintain Short Term Plan - Schedule Auditors,
is used to manually record information in the Short Term Plan. We
will use this option to schedule auditors to "work" on
the Audit Unit Non-productive to record the time they are
unavailable to perform audits, as given in Figure 17.

Using DIV2 as input, select the Audit Unit Non-productive and enter the data shown on Figure 17 using the ADD command.
We can now have AMP automatically generate a default Short Term Plan.
Select menu item 2, 6.2 Compute Suggested Short Term Plan Automatically. Compute short term plans for both DIV1 and DIV2.
The planning process is now complete. The reports in menu item
6, 6.6 Print Short Term Plan Reports Menu can be produced to view
the short term plan created and modifications can be made if
necessary.
This brings us to the end of this tutorial. We have skipped some sections of AMP in the interest of reducing the time requirements of the tutorial. We encourage you to explore the other features and experiment, perhaps by applying AMP to your own data.
